….. ouch america pt 2

I was going to avoid this topic about Donald Trump, Charlottesville, and everything that went down over the weekend. Β Then today happened. The last time I tragically wrote about Donald Trump was November 10th, two days after he was elected without him even knowing what the three branches of government were. It’s August, and I’m still fascinated by the events of his election.

Today, the President of the United States of America defended Neo-Nazis and White Supremacy in a press conference, a day after he read one of the most ridiculous statements off of a teleprompter to claim that he didn’t defend them in order attempt to somehow salvage how his original statements, which claimed support for these same groups on Saturday. The similar statements from Saturday to now is how he truly feels.

For me, this isn’t surprising. If you’ve ever talked to me about 45, I’ve openly spoke about how racist I think he is. Facts back up my claims too, and it didn’t have anything to do with his ridiculous ass statements he made during his campaign about every race but the Caucasian one. If you’re curious, google “Donald Trump and Central Park 5.” A lot of you told me in my face that “Trump was kidding” or Β “He doesn’t mean everything he says, he’s just saying that to get voters.” If you’re reading this and you found yourself saying this, you gotta take the L here. The joke is on you today.

What we saw over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia was embarrassing, and reached loser mentality. White supremacists protesting a Robert E. Lee statue, a man who was a loser war general never seizes to amaze me. Moving from Washington State to the Northern Virginia area for school (again, I might add), I never understood the love for the confederate flag. In this age of not giving children participation trophies, Lee having a statue for losing a war is as big of a participation trophy you can get. You can’t wave a confederate flag then claim you love America, sis. That’s not how this works.

Obviously, I am a black male. I’m disturbed by these “Unite the Right” rallies. I’m also confused too. Why are straight white males upset so much that they want to have this ethnic cleansing? What have minorities done to you? For one day, they should try to be in my shoes. It ain’t all roses and cupcakes here. For a time on Saturday, I laughed at the fact that police supposedly “left” the rally because it got too “rowdy” for them. I’ll keep it in perspective here. A black lives matter protest march gets tear gassed, and police show up in riot gear. These Neo-Nazis and white Supremacists showed up Charlottesville looking to kill. Showing up in armor, and weaponry as a scare tactic, then not being arrested, let alone shot for doing so is wild. Even the dude who killed the young lady protesting was somehow “apprehended.” He was probably also given Burger King too (A Dyllan Roof reference).

People sympathizing with those who claim to be Nazis is the most baffling shit I’ve seen on the internet. The more I listen and watch the news, the more I’m convinced our education system in America has failed us. We were taught in school that Nazis were trash. We literally had to fight a war in the 1940s, you know, a World War over Nazis.

Which links this back to Trump;

Trump has condemned Muslim bombings that weren’t even in the states claiming we need “stronger borders.” He’s talked poorly about Mexicans, claiming they’re bringing in “all of the drugs.” He’s retweeted fake news stories about black people in relation to violence. But when it comes to domestic terrorism here which involves people who follow David Duke, Richard Spencer, etc, it’s both sides to the issue who are in the wrong? Really? Way to show your true colors, Donald.

There are two ways that this can be settled in history. One, a lot of you just stay silent and allow a race war to occur, which will then have you write on facebook and twitter that you’re “praying for peace.” Which is fine. Do whatever you please. The other way is to be vocal and condemn this, while still being able to “pray for peace.” It’s okay to do both. A lot of people think this a political issue. Dude, nah. We can disagree politically. I’ll respect that. But when it comes down to humanity, and the defense of Nazis and White Supremacy….. that’s where you lose me. Don’t be on the wrong side of this one.

Be vocal.

Condemn this.

Before it’s too late.
